Here is the chart to set the bias. Choose the valve you want to try and match the setting. They show TWO different setting for the plate voltage.
It's either or, one is lower, LOOK at the valve while it's idling. The switch to the far right, in the lower right hand corner. In one position it may red plate, if it red plates in both positions, it might need service..
I've pushed valves, to the limit, don't freak out IF you see a little red plating. just turn it off and flip the switch and remember there is a rush of current when you flip the switch, it MIGHT brighten quicker at the start up.. Observe old to new...
If you look around you can find information on the valve you want to use, usually. BUT DYODD. I don't see a problem as long as your unit matches the one in the article.
