Almost a historically accurate selection of their best recordings. The debate over when Metallica jumped the shark (do you include "And Justice" as a classic album, or do you think it's carp?) is a biggie in metal circles. In my opinion, Puppets was the last honest metal album these former thrashers made.
Kings of metal? Kings of sellout, rather. Real metal kings: Chuck Schuldiner, Lemmy, Schmier, Bobby Liebling. I've got a wall full of kings. Newstead recently quit the 4 showmen and joined a real band - Montreal's Voivod. He left another (Flotsam and Jetsam) long ago to do the Metallica thing, he's now returned to his roots. Power and respect to him, he's got his head screwed on straight. The rest of them? St. Anger, baby.
