New Lampizator Level 4/ Version 4 DAC in the house

Wonder if any other new owners of this DAC are out there as I find it to be the finest digital playback I have heard to date. This is the first digital front end piece of gear I have owned that has transformed my music.

Ya, other digital gear does this or that better, but this Lampy breaks through to a new level of musical enjoyment. Clear view into the music helping the speakers just disappear. Only 24 hours of break in and the music flows so sweet, intimate and seemingly without boundaries.

Looking under the hood I see an impressive power supply with films caps and several high quality chokes. Point to point silver wired except for the digital and USB boards. This is a three tube player that is tube rectified. One has the option for SS rectification if desired.

Ya, I love this Lampy!

Agear (Steve) are you going to be at CES? If not will the Off Ramp be there?
I don't hear a difference between ripping cd's to WAV using either I Tunes or XLD.
Grannyring I'm only talking about WAV files. I don't hear a difference if the WAV files came from XLD or if they came from I tunes. People say XLD sounds better, but I don't hear it.
Little off subject anyone going to CES in two weeks. I'm going with Charles.
I'm sorry to say that the Lampizator room did not have one of the best sounds at the show. It was just average. The speakers were brand new and the room was very small. I however, liked what I saw and after talking with the head man himself ordered one. I hope I will like it as time will tell.
Clio, I agree the TAD Concert Fidelity room was great. I also like the TAD Zesto room as well. I can't say which was better. As far as Cessaro I liked the room as well. My only complaint is that the music had a foward dynamic presentation on every piece of music I heard. Sometimes I like a relaxed sound as well. It just maybe that we were sitting too close. I have a friend who owns the Edger horn with Compression JBL drivers and he sits 15 feet back.
This is not a problem just buy two dueland caps and replace the jensen with them. If you don't like them you can always place the jensens back. In the lampizator this is a very easy job. Now get to it and report back.
Good Lord I just got my Big 5 with Dueland caps today and after one hour I am getting the best digital sound I ever had. What can I expect with 200 hours or when it is fully broken in. I wonder if I even need to try new old stock tubes for the outputs and the rectifiers. Bye for now
Goopher is right the Big 6 uses the 16 bit phillips chip. I did not want to go with that chip as I wanted to be able to play 24/192 files as well.
My good friend Charles1dad brought over his digital cable that he does not use anymore. The rca cable transformed my system and I'm am now getting the best sound I ever had at my place. It took away a very slight edge and added bass weight and beautiful organic coloring to the instruments on any cd that we played. I kid you not it was like going to any new component that you can think of. My Zadies Lamp connected to the PS Audio transport is amazing. I only have 96 hours on it and I don't kow what I am going to do when 400 comes around. I didn't even roll tubes and the only thing I addressed was to place brass audio points under the DAC and Transport. This opened up the soundstage quite a bit. Cistrum stands are now in the cards. The digital cables I tried were ASI Live Line, Luminous Audio, Wireworld. Of the three I liked the Luminous Audio cable the best. The cable that did the transformation was the Acoustic Revive digital cable. I was going to try the Wywires Gold cable, but now I don't know if I will. I am so happy I could yell it from the rooftops.
Grannyring, why do you need to change caps in the Oppo if you are going directly from the chip direct to the digital output.
Lukasz slightly likes the sound of the big single box vs two boxes when I asked him at this past CES.
To me passive preamps bring a different perspective in sound. They sound leaner in over all presentation. I can understand why people like this because they think they are getting more resolution. I feel I can get more towards the sound of live music with an active preamp. Yes there are active preamps too that can give you a leaner balance, but my experience has a whole is what I'm talking about.
I heard the Dude in Charles1dad's system against his Coincident preamp. We both thought the dude was good, but not as open and transparent as the coincident. The dude did not have Duelund caps in them. I'm not sure what the caps were and the tubes were not new old stock.
