Thanks for the link and the review! I’ve been a bit distracted because I decided to drag an old pair of L100’s up from the basement, that I bought new in 1975 to take to college. Had to do a little veneer touch-up and figure out how to make the ‘quadrex’ foam. They are looking and sounding pretty good now. I don’t really want to put any money into, or really change, my old school rock-n’-roll speakers.
I am sure the L82’s will sound better, but since I am just getting started with this hobby, the L100’s will be my start because of Gravesen’s L100 work that I was reading - I want to learn to do that sort of analysis. So, I’ll be studying how to capture the data and analyze different configurations. (I 3D printed some port plugs, tapered and using #64 rubber bands, to seal the ports - the bass sounds flatter, but I want to prove that and also see, as well as hear, differences when I change stuff, like using the SC1 to roll off at 80hz@6db per octave, etc., etc.)
Then I’ll be ready to evaluate and spend serious $$ on some audiophile grade gear! I have enjoyed seeing the products and advice/opinions here on Audiogon and decided that I just don’t know enough to make purchase decisions, yet.
But rest assured, as in your review, I will enjoy the music played through those JBL’s...again!, while I learn and ease into the audiophile world of accurate sound reproduction.
