New- HiFi ROSE RS130 Ultimate Network Transport

I originally thought that the HiFi ROSE RS130 Ultimate Network Transport was a CD transport until further reading.  It’s actually a streamer with the ability to apply a fiber optic connection to lower the noise.  Hifi Rose seem to put out highly praised products that are very high performance at their price points.  At 5.2k, it’s seems like a great value for the quality and proposed performance as it’s too early for reviews.

A little late to post this but I had an RS130. It's very unfortunate that their Apple Music isn't lossless or even gapless playback. That coupled with the app killed it for me. I owned it for 6 months. It sounded good but I ended up buying a lifetime subscription to Roon due to the Rose Connect app. I ended up purchasing an Eversolo DMP-A8. After getting it up and running, I ended up selling the RS130. I didn't find that it sounded substantially better to keep it. I do like Apple Music from time to time. IMO, the RS130 is overpriced and the app totally kills it.

I do not own a Rose RS130 but a local fellow audio nut does and he laments the poor Rose app. He bought a Roon unit.

I also purchased a Hi Rose 130 to do local playback. I had trouble working wth the software, and the unit did not sound as good as streaming local from my Mac air. Bought an Aurunder N20 and all was good.

I've had a Rose RS130 in my system for just over a year now and love it.

Use it as a Roon endpoint feeding a Rockna Wavelight via Tubulus Concentus I2S cable.  It was a big step up from the very competent Bricast M5 I had been using prior to acquiring the RS130.

My full system architecture can be viewed here. See included visio diagram for complete breakdown of the system.

I still like my RS130 very much from a sonic POV, but Rose IMO is putting too much priority behind adding new features, versus fixing the many issues found in the existing features. Playlist management being one of the worst offenders. I’m very curious to find out how the Munich announced Eversolo T8 will stack up.
