Neil Young calls out Tidal

TIDAL is calling their files of my songs Masters. But TIDAL’s MQA files are not my masters. I make my masters - not TIDAL. I made my masters the way I wanted them to sound. If TIDAL referred to their titles as TIDAL MASTERS, I would have no problem, but they don’t. They call them Masters. I had my music removed from that platform. They are not my masters.”.

Did you make that up? Because its not true.

@noske I am to the point where I pretty much do not care.
it is only that I know some people that cannot be vaccinated that I care at all.

So the truthfullness of the quoted post, is sort of not the point, as both side believes what they want to believe. It is like talking to a wall.

If someone believes in some conspiracy, then so be it.

A year ago there were some stories of a friend (of a friend)^n… that went to a covid party, whom is now on their death bed begging others to take it all seriously. That too could be fake.

Of course I am stuck at an airport, and am stuck due to Covid rules… So I do not really care a lot. If they believe that vaccine has nano particle badness, like some high $ fuse has nano particle goodness, then let them do the test and I’ll be in the control group.

I appreciate the Neil and others are passionate, but passion is only good if one is like Joan of Arc. If one is passionate about being anti-science, then let’s let nature test it.
(We can always buy the Vinyl if we want to hear Neil... as he should be heard.)

This whole discussion is out of place on an audio forum.

One could possibly make a cogent argument that people that feel that “subjective things that cannot be proven objectively” is a group that is ripe for also distrusting other science, engineering and based data driven fields?

I one could make the case, with a bit of work.

Play  you some soothing music to make you feel better ?

@mapman
I found their battlecry song…

Twisted Sister’s “We’re not gonna take it.”

No @holmz my battle cry song would be The Harder They Come.

I’ll read the Cliff notes to see what’s it says.

Rather be a freeman in my grave than living as a puppet or a slave.

Puppets and slaves may not have had a lot of choices.
I am not sure you are really free, unless we assume that what you are thinking are your own actual thoughts?

You should work on your music selection dude. But then again you use lamp cord for speaker cables.

Why would I worry about my cables?
The music sounds just fine.
The fact that many people don’t even have the speakers in the right place, but stress over cables, is more of a problem.

So I am not at all stressed about the cables, but I thought I should take a picture of them until the new ones arrive, mainly just for $hits-n-goggles.

I am not going to be embarrassed to want to listen to things while I am awaiting new cable, or even am I sure whether new cables will make any difference at all.
(But they certainly will for the other speakers that do not have any cables.)

The parallels of woke virtue signally with audiophile cable, fuse, and power cord signalling is astounding.

Getting the TT parts in, and the thing refurbished, is way more important than my speaker cords.

Wow this thread has gone off the rails…

as did NY.

or it ended up on the third rail?
