need the truth about component video cables

I'm in the market for a 2m comp. video cable and I'm a little confused. I've read some articles on the differences between silver coated and straight copper cables. So I went ahead and got the Better Cables Silver Serpent and the Monster video 3 for a comparison. The movies I demoed were Toy Story, gladiator, And Star Wars. From the reviews I read here on Agon and on Audio Review, I was expecting a fairly noticable difference between the two, but, I didn't. On Toy Story the picture did look slightly sharper but not by much, and on the others I couldn't tell a difference. Is there really a difference and I'm just not seeing it, or is there really not that great a difference between video cables. Whatched them on a 65" Toshiba HDTV with a Toshiba DVD (not Progressive scan). Any help is appreciated as I'm going insane. Thank You, Chris

I'm using the Tributaries DCV C component video cables, which use silver plated copper conductors, on my Sony 7700 player. I notice a very negligable difference in the picture quality. My 7700 is also not progressive scan. You may wish to try them. Tributaries has established a reputation for their video cables. You can check them out at www.tributariescable.com. Be sure to check out the "product construction" link for specifics.

Hope this helps.
