Need help with amp

I have old onkyo receiver love to used it so I don't have to spend money on that.Have Carver Amazing Platinum Mark IV in oak finish, have Sunfire CRM - 2 in piano finish black. No rush for me to buy,but if I find good deal on amp I will buy and keep it any suggestion on amp. I have to tell you I was told by friend to look for Sunfire so i need mope opinion thanks Marjan
