Need Help Replacing Diaphragm in HEIL Tweeters???

I just purchased replacement ESS HEIL diaphragms. They seemed to be a very tight fit compared to the original ones I took out. Now when I listen to them they have a nasty crackle.

Has anyone experienced this issue? Are there any special considerations with this procedure?
