Need Help on Bypassing Volume Pot on Bob Carver

Hi all.

I need some advise on how to bypass the Bob Carver 305 Amplifier. I will be using a Tube Pre-amp and feel the sonics on the power amp can be upgraded more if the volume pot is bypassed. Any suggestion or help appreciated.

I can see 3 Wires connecting to the Volume pot one which one is the Earth.

Generally speaking, the #1 terminal is grounded. That's the
one that's on the left(looking at the rear of the pot, with
the terminals on top). Without seeing a schematic; I can't
say that's the way Carver has his volume/gain control wired
though.
