Need A Recommendation

I want to use the Ayre DVD player. I need a dac for the audio. The Ayre unit has audio digital balanced (xlr) out with a link to control the Dac's clock to keep jitter in check. The video will go directly into my LCD monitor. I don't want to spend a fortune. The video system is my second system - the audio is not a great concern.

Birdland Odeon-Ag. Great Dac. However, the Birdland really shines brightest when you can plug it directly into your amp. I think they run about $1300 and $1800 with the re-clocker.
I hear the Benchmark is a good one, too. Around $1000.
