Need a dummy crash course on soldering fem.RCAs

Hi
I am ready to start replacing female RCA sockets with WBT ones but never held a soldering iron in my hand. What are things to look out for?Should the wire be in contact with the connector or as long as theres solder in between everything should be OK?I would really appreciate your help in this project.Thanks.

Three tips:

1) Don't let the wire 'float' in a pool of solder. Be sure the wire makes solid contact with the connector.

2) Let the joint melt the solder, not the iron. This will help you prevent cold solder joints.

3) Most importantly, practice a bunch before you attempt to cheese up any expensive terminals like WBTs for instance.
