Nakamichi DR-10 Cassette Deck Repair

I am the original owner of a Nakamichi DR-10 Cassette Deck. This unit has been sitting idle (indoors, climate-controlled environment) for a decade or more. I recently connected it to my stereo system, and attempted to play (several) tapes. As soon as I push the Play button, it stops; i.e.: it will not play the tape. The Fast Forward and Rewind both work. QUESTIONS:
  • Any ideas re: how to fix this issue?
  • Any suggestions re: repair services?

I agree, Willie is the best on the West coast and reasonable. If you're thinking about doing it yourself, Nak Talks is the site to read.

That's true about youtube, but the REALLY good Nak guys don't post on youtube. The super Nak's like Willie are too busy with their grandkids.
