Naim CD5/Flatcap2 - can they be stacked

Wondering if I can stack the CD5 on the Flatcap. If its safe to do so, any downside in terms of sound quality? Trying to free up a shelf on my rack.

naim reccomends that the cd and power supply be sited on different shelves,however my cd3.5 sets on top of the flatcap and sounds great.
