NAD 5440 Remote Disassembly

I bought a NAD 5440 CD player, which admittedly is 1991 vintage, but the remote is DOA. I have a way of resurrecting dead remotes, but I don't want to break the thing while taking it apart. I don't have any manuals. Is there a secret to disassembling this thing?
