Do yourself a favor if you can stretch to afford it, and buy a Musical Fidelity A308cr power amp. It's around $2,000.00 on Audiogon, and many are the dealer demo closeouts because they're dicontinuing them with the new A5 line, so you'll get the full warranty.
This is an awesome amp with 250 WPC into 8 ohms, 400 into 4 ohms, it's a lot better than the A5 Integrated. But honestly, it had better be at a list price of $4,000.00 versus the A5 at $2,500.00 for a pre-amp/amp combination.
I have one and was considering replacing it with a new Conrad-Johnson Premier 350 at $8,000.00. The salesman told me that I didn't know how good that A308cr really is because you can't really hear a good amp that's amplifying the signal without adding it's own colorations.
If the salesman was willing to lose the commission on an $8,000.00 purchase, I have a hard time not believing him.
