Mono blocks for Revel Salon 1’s recommendation?

I have been looking to upgrade my Krell KMA 160 mono blocks.  I have a Krell KRC -HR and an Oppo Modwright player.  I want to stay with mono blocks and thought I would stay in the late 90’s to 2010 range with something class A…but with all the new smaller amps out there etc, just wondering if I am missing something.  Thought was I needed a high watt/high current mono to get the best out of the Revel’s but not sure looking at some of the newer stuff.  Budget is 10k.  Thanks in advance.  I listen to mostly blues and rock.

Well within your stated budget, I would consider simply upgrading from Revel Salon 1 to Salon 2 and keeping your classic Krell monoblocks.

Not only do you already own a matching, outstanding pre, but you would be hard pressed to find new amps that come within a mile of your Krells without tripling or quadrupling your budget.

My two cents, obviously.

A music buddy drives his Salon 2 with Parasound JC1 monos. If it were me, I'd try some Class D monos. Many good choices out there.

I appreciate all of the great, thoughtful responses.  I have owned these KMA-160's for about 20 years!  I do love the sound i have, but then again i don't have much to compare it to.  The only thing i feel like it is lacking is the 3 dimensional soundstage....and you always think maybe there is "something better" out there.  In addition it would be nice to try something different.  You guys brought up brands that i was either not familiar with or had not considered.  Now i am researching!  Thank you.  I was truly surprised that i did not get PASS LABS or old Krell recommendations.  Someone mentioned that Kevin Voecks designed the Revel's with the Martin Logan's in mind....any recommendations on which ML mono's would be good?  I considered going outside of my budget and looking at the ML 33's or ML33-H's but the repair cost and risk did not seem worth it.  About in that same price range i think you could get a pair of Krell Evolution One's, any comments on those?

If you have the money..??  Check out the "BLOCK AUDIO MONO AMPS...

200 watts pure class A....and then some. Very Serious Amps....for a down and gritty Audiophile.... world Class all the way....G
