Monitor Audio Platinum or Magico A3

Actually the monitor audio Platinum is much better than the magico, the sound stage is much more three-dimensional and enveloping, the depth and the separation are better as well, so yes one is better than the other.

LOL, no it’s not. The monitor audio Platinum is inferior across the board to the A3. Just look at the built quality, it says it all (and it sounds like plastics as well). Basically a MidFi product at best.

First thing first, you lost your argument When you judge how speaker sound to how it looks like or material that has been made of.

first of all there is no such thing as plastic sound, we are not talking about hardened pasta or spaghetti,
2nd the build quality of Monitor audio platinum is second to none, they’re built exactly the way B&W 800 series built, I own platinum II 300 and B&W 800 I love them both, the platinum sound stage is incredible even their silver series sound stage is untouchable let a lone -the platinum, as for magico they built speaker that looks like art furniture thrown into so many aluminum inside cage, still all that doesn’t make it sound any better the bronze series of Monitor audio which cost 99% less what is magico selling for their cheapest speakers

Listen to MAGICO owners only who have lived with the speakers as the others are guessing or just trying to bad rap #1.Good luck!

mheinze, yes let's look at the build quality the magico is an ugly metal box, the platinum is 11 layers of hand polished lacquer and each enclosure takes 144 hours to make, so I guess you must be blind if you think that ugly metal box looks better then the platinum with Strathsprey leather on the front which is the best leather in the world used by Rolls-Royce and other extremely high-end automobile manufacturers and their driver technology if you've even bother to read the white paper is way ahead of magico. And that beryllium tweeter is bright as hell. But to each his own if that's what you like so be it. The MPD tweeter is the best tweeter in the world right now it goes to 100,000 clean no other tweeter on the market can even come close.

Anyway, sorry but I am not impressed by shiny objects, besides, if I wanted a nice piece of furniture, I would buy a “Made in Italy” product, you know "to each his own", right?
