ML Descent or Sunfire True Sub MkIV?

I have a chance to buy a Martin logan descent at a very good price and currently have a sunfire MkIV. My system consists of cary cinema 11 pre/pro, cary cinema 2 and cinema 5 amps and dynaudio focus 140 L/R and dynaudio focus 200c for center. I unfortunately had to use in ceilings for the rear 4 speakers. Room is 18x 12 x 9 feet. I suspect that the ML would be more musical, but which would be better for HT?

Mark,

Thanks much for your impression. Great to hear you have better integration with the ML Descent than Sunfire.

Best regards,

Ken
I got the ML Descent behind the wall with 1/4 inch to spare and have it hooked up with the xlr connection. It is not as powerful as the sunfire but blends much better with my dynaudios. I don't have to constantly fiddle with the controls on each song or dvd like I seemed to have to do with the sunfire. It is much more musical as well.

The dealer just dropped it off today. I have only just hooked it up in a suboptimal position, but it is certainly more musical and less boomy. It's huge though, I hope I can get it back behind the false wall that was built for the HT.

Mark,

Please give us your input regarding the two subs. I have the Sunfire unit.

Thanks,

Ken
The Descent is the best sub I've heard. For my taste, it blows the Sunfire away. While it would be more musical, it would also be better for HT as well. Great balance between both applications.

If you decide to pass on it, let me know... :)

Good luck with your decision
