Miracles in Audio, by luck, by good choices,by design or by tweaking...

The S.G. in my system are connected to my stones grid and if I disconnected all that the soundstage collapse, the imaging is less precise, the bubble in which each instrument lives is no more organically connected to the totality...

I think that it is an interaction between the E.M. field of the S.G. and my gear...The stones act also like some kind of filter ,if I change the stones I change the sound for better or worse...But you are the scientist I will wait for your explanation... My best to you Geoff...

An interesting experiment:

I now had 6 Schuman Generator (2 power supply+4usb one) in my room… At each times there is an incremental improvement in the soundstage and imaging of the speakers and the headphone alike...If I switch them all off, there is a collapse of the soundstage and imaging, not only in the speakers but more surprisingly in the headphone too...

A complete mystery if you said so, it is... But Perhaps the frequency pulsed by the S.G. act like a kind of transporting wave for some resonant frequencies of my stones affecting the electro-magnetics field intersecting in my room... Dont kill my speculative ignorance with too much sarcasms please... :)


One thing is for sure, like Helmholtz resonators, vibrations controls methods, acoustic room treatment, the S.G.  are an indispensable audio tools for me coupled to my stones grid...In a few years in a new room I will begin anew with better knowledge now and improved connections in my new grid...

"Twin fans combing sound room enhancer"

For few days now i listen to my room in nearfield and regular position, with 2 fans beside (2feet) each speakers, and 2 other fans firectly in front of them each side of my listening chair 8 feet from them...

Each 4 fans are modified with a cone bell or 2 in the center with a small and also a bigger herkimer diamond in the center of the metal plate enclosure...

Boy! for the price paid( i already owned them for the summer and for years) the acoustic is now , at last, to my absolute liking....

I liked it before, but the nearfield position was my best... Now the 2 positions being slightly different are never mind on par ....

For peanuts ANYBODY can transform his room, i prove it here....Be creative, dont listen to anybody except your ears...

You will know when you would reach the top of the mountain because it is no more possible to stop any music .....

Enjoy the sound, listen to the music we need it in this darkest hour....

I cannot imagine now how i will improve that except by upgrading .... But i dont have the money and frankly it is no more a need born of frustation...

If you bought a new "miraculous product" that will be good,but not "miraculous", like I bought, : the wave magnetic guide of Alan Maher, remember this : Any "so called miraculous product" in your mind or in the mind of the marketing brain will introduce noise of his own, by virtue of his own electronics or even by simply mechanical vibrations of his solid casing and parts and the produced unwanted resonances...

After plugging this good product indeed , I was not entirely satisfy... I decide to treat the exterior casing of the magnetic A.M. waveguide with Fo.Q tuning tape but also Sorbothane duro 70 1/4 inches thick(very good for audio)…(for sure I added some tourmaline stones also) The 2 tapes cleans so much noise that my new Fostex T10 gained much in rendering less recessed higher frequencies (their only defect for me)...

Morality: If some company claims something about " one miraculous product" that cures all, it is not true, the truth is always in audio, many cleaning methods works together with all new product including miraculous one... There is always the necessity, nevermind what you will buy, to tweaks the acoustic atmosphere of the room, the mechanical vibrations, and the high level noise (E.M. or mechanical) introduced by any new link, even "the so-called miraculous one"... By the way I like the Alan Maher wave guide, that is way more effective now, I only say that all new link must be treated also, in this case for mechanical vibrations...

I bought this product to further enhance mostly the Fostex T10 my only headphone of choice now and the goal is achieved...The Fostex T10 an old orthodynamic ( paid 80 bucks) is really better now that all my past headphones, including a paid 300 bucks chineese modern orthos that I never really loved ...But without many tweaks improving the electrical embeddings of the audio grid in the house, in the room, or on each link by itself, nothing will satisfy me now...Nothing...However i am satisfy now and really listen music to my likings from my headphone for the first time after 8 headphones in 7 years...A potential good headphone like the Fostex T10 is not enough by itself, even with a good amp, and a good dac, it takes methods to clean the noise floor of the gear, the room and the house...

Yes Geoff I use Lemurian Quartz to great avails... It is better in general to use Herkimer, pink quartz also, lemurian etc They are better in audio than only standard regular quartz...

I have " mathematical faith" in a universal grid memory information processing field, it is not science, it is faith nourished by contemplation of the numbers plane and vectors reality...Except for that I dont know how to answers your interesting question like usual...My best to you from the past to the future...(I am from the past) :)


P.S. I think that your metaphor with acupuncture is very spot on....

An example of my use of quartz is about a thin stick of lemurian quartz, but of the "smoked" variety, that i have placed on the cables knot of my headphone... I have taped chrysocolla beads with one stick of Lemurian "smoked" quartz in between and the result are audible for the rendering of timbre; the chrysocolla act for me more about the imaging first, the lemurian of the "smoked" variety add "body" to that and more than that enhancing the imaging effect of the chrysocolla.......

Today i meet a friend and takes some stones with me trying to improve his audio system...It was a revelation but way more for me than for him... After placing some stones on top of his power strip, i hears some minor improvement, but not what i anticipate at all... Only some clear audible improvement to my ears, to him also, but not much the change i promise to deliver...(It was the same friend who liked a lot my audio system some weeks ago).

In my own system it takes me 1 year at least, placing one stone at a times, and experimenting with the best other stones to pair with it, after months introducing cables between them, and batteries, and finally Schuman Generator with stones cabled to this stones grid...Then hoping and promising for an astounding change just by throwing few stones on a big Monster power strip was perhaps naive of my part ... However in my audio system this stones grid is astoundingly audible and I know perfectly well the difference between introducing it or not, between before and after...

Morality: dont hope astounding improvement by just throwing a few stones for example on a power strip, or near some gear, like sometimes my discourse seems to suggest in this thread.... It takes minor change adding to many others minor change cumulating themselves after many months of experimenting in an astounding change...It takes times, experiments, and linking all the stones, this is not possible to makes that happens in a few hours... I think that i underestimated all the experimenting works that adding the stones implicate for a final astounding result...

Then all of you reading my assertive enthusiasm if you conclude that just adding some stones will be a great improvement, i must say to you it takes many, many experiments and minor changes, they are all cumulative, at the end...Hope for the best only if you play and experiment for more than one evening.... If you dont want bothering yourself with fun experiments on many months like myself, buy 5 ooo thousand bucks ready-made tweaks, they probably are on par with my tweaks and who knowns! perhaps better, and more easy to install.... Perhaps i was too enthusiast suggesting a miracle to happen in the first experiment...I forget all my long journey of minor changes till the end and speak only  about my end result without realizing all the trials and errors along the way that were necessary to obtain all that...

I dont know if I have dreamed that but few minutes ago I taped some thin vertically band of adhesive copper tape on the wall sockets of my audio room and the sound seems more natural and more velvety and less grainy ?

Is it another miracles in audio or an hallucination?

It is definitely less grainy sound...It is very evident with Haydn string quartet (Auryn quartet)...And also in the velvety sound of Chet Baker Tokyo concert...

I definitely does not hallucinate.... I enjoy more my music and I call that a little miracle for the cost of 2 peanuts...Subtle but there and sublime softness of string or brass sound...Thanks Geoff...

My new Homemade creation:

The "TWIN FANS COMBING SOUND" Room enhancer...

Imagine the sound in your room is like a pony tail of all hair behind the head...

Imagine you detach the pony tail, and that you comb the hairs...

I put 2 fans (the plastic one that you can play with, adjusting the height in summer with 3 or 4 blades) i put these 2 fans in front of the speakers at the same height than my tweeter.... I put (very important) a 3/4 inches Herkimer Diamond in the center of each cage enclosure....

Results: soundstage more open but especially better high frequencies and better imaging, better perception of all harmonics....

Incredible reverse engineering at virtually peanuts costs... (2 unused fans of 20 bucks each).

The audible effect is there ar regular distance 7 feet or in near listening 3 1/2 feet....

Enhance the room and the higher frequencies perception very much....

What can i say?

I got my idea reading about a wodden thing that cost 1,500 dollars....

Reverse engineering it with metal fan enclosure with an H. D. in the center to erase some resonance.....

Marvellous...

Basic Hi-Fi cost peanuts..... Use your ears more and less your eyes.....And the brain between the two....

Dont listen the so called self appointed scientist, and do not listen marketers, try yourself.... Experimenting is fun and rewarding....

Put some copper adhesive tape around the router of the house`s computer and it is an improvement also....It seems to improve the sound also around any electrical connecting device, headphone plug or power strip, not only wall sockets...Added more transparency to the sound mainly....

I forgot to mention a better perception of the timbre and more natural one with an increased imaging really.......

This " Twin fan combing sound" is on par with my "golden plate" creation....

But wait a minute, the placebo effect is a real ,non cumulative, one time new biased perception, it is real, but NON cumulative in a repeated cumulative acts of tweaking, one after the other, toward a complete transformation of my audio system after many months or years.... Then I am a bit fool to wrap that at the end of my gutters, but the pacebo effect  is a real subtle change, tough non cumulative, it seems that the illusion is not a growing without mom ending improvement...At the end I am not completely nutty with all my tweaks it seems...I am nutty only with these tie-wrap placebo improvement.... :)

it seems we are brother from the same unknown father,because like you I think about anything to change for the better even placebo tweaks...

Anyway thanks Geoff for this tweak that nobody will try except myself here....

The strange thing is a better soundstage for my speakers... Or is it an illusion temporary? Why? Is there anything other than complete placebo effect? why black ties wrap? I dont trust my ears anymore and they are rather good to this day... :)

I listen now to my speakers..In the evening I will listen with my beloved Fostex and I will know for sure with more confidence...

I wanted to try another experiment with the copper tape but I will wait tomorrow for not interfering with this one... the tie-wrap one and the cell phone one...

More I listen now more I am in love, this is a sign of some improvement in nearfield and at normal distance, I perceive an improvement in the soundstage and imaging...But I dont know for sure what is the part of the tie-wraps and the parts of the modified cell that is always near me...

...When I listen to the sound, it is my unconscious that make the analysis not my conscious mind, and I listen to the voice of my unconscious through my feeling, and after my feeling change for the best or the worst I know that there is something changing in my audio system for better or worst...Many people listen with their conscious mind, and they perceive nothing or very little with no confidence...I makes all the tweaks experiments in this mood with almost always running the way through some new improvement, incrementally one after the other...


The "positive bias" or the placebo effect cannot explain all the change that is perceived by many people not only me in my audio system for sure...

Ok the improvement of the soundstage and imaging is plainly evident also in my headphone....I am more baffled than with the speakers... Because the form of the soundstage is not the same than yesterday...

The black tie-wraps is working and the cell modification also perhaps...Incredible...Am I insane?

The change in the headphone is staggering....unmistakable...More coherency in the soundstage...Better dynamic, more transparency...

For sure there exist a limit where any tweaks will affect less and less the audible performance of an audio system, coming after many precedent tweaks that drive the system to his potential best sound...


I think I am near this limit now and that the future for me is linked to a cutting off the link between the audio system and the electrical grid of the house...

Somebody can say to me thinking that my audio system need an upgrading that it will be better to change my dac or amplifier or even the speakers....

My answers is this: 
Most of you, probably half of you readers, already owns pretty good system in all probability, and my experience and experiments allow me to assert that most of the sound quality of a system comes from not only of his inherent quality of design but also and mostly at the end from the treatment of the room and the house, the controls of resonance and vibrations, and the cleaning of the EMI and RFI, and from the tweaks decreasing the noise floor of the audio grid...Then upgrading only a link in my already good audio chain will be an illusory or a feeble upgrading compared to the cutting off the link between the audio system and the electrical grid...

People are in general very proud of the "appearence" of their gear... if you put some stones, and homemade tweaks on top of your gear that is already stocked tightly on your desk, amp+dac+speakers+computer screen, that dont make pretty and easy pictures...For me only count the final sound quality...I dont give a damn for the look...My audio system was my experiment in the making for the last years...I own the same dac for almost 2 years now, the same amplifier for the last 4 years, the speakers for the last 2 years, only the headphones (8) has been regularly "upgraded" without complete satisfaction, except for the last 2 :  particularly the orthodynamic Fostex T10...


Then the change I have gained with installing these many controls means, tweaks and methods, were way more impactful than changing an already good piece of gear if carefully choosen... This is the reason I started this thread... To partake ideas....To demystify the  conditioned reflex urging us to upgrade at all cost before even thinking to make our already good gear better with low cost tweaks... 

One of my big surprize looking at photos of reviewers using many different gear, or just audiophiles, was the few indications in the photo about the care to isolate, damp, and controls, vibrations and resonance...More than that the carelessness about the electrical embedding of the audio grid, and the more evident carelessness about the acoustical embedding in the room, that is more important sometimes than the choice between 2 trademark speakers...And the absence of tweaks to improve sound is the last worry for these crowds...On many forum almost all discussion is about the merit of different trademark products...

My advice is : You already owned good gear most of the times, think about low cost methods to improve it ...

I was like that 7 years ago, desesperate to accomplish my dream of an audio system at least very good if not more than that...

I wander trough many audio forums where posters of fanboy of all kind of trademark new products or vintage one sometimes helped me, many times not really...I was desesperate because the unconscious programs were new hi-fi products only are necessary and sufficient by themselves to accomplish that dream...


But after many deceiving results with new products, and broken promises, and the impossibility to accomplish my dream with only the money I lacked (I dont have this luxury) I begin to think and read about tweaks, vibrations controls, room design, EMI and RFI cleaning, and stones and crystals also and about many exotic product, expansive one with crystals for example promising the audio moonshine...I decide to replicate some results homemade at low costs because it was the only possibility without purchase money to begins with...


It takes me some years of experiments, not too complicate, one at a times, each result constructed with the preceding one, and at the end my dream was there for the last months... A very good audio system (Very good without being pricey) for the first time of my life...


I start this thread only to inspire some people because when I begins I was desesperate to look for sound and inspiring advices other than "buy this miraculous trademark that will solve all problem" or other than only necessary but straight "technical informations about impedance etc"...


Nevermind what you owns, probably good or very good products already, the only road to audio heaven is linked to the cleaning of negative resonance, decreasing the noise level of the audio system grid but also of the house electrical grid, and linked to the acoustic treatment of your room... I dont even speak about special tweaks like Helmholtz bottles or Schumann Generator for example and other minor remarkable tweaks...

Even if your audio system is worth 100,000 bucks, without that 3 ways necessary working roads and some of these other tweaks, you dont know what your audio system optimal potential is... That is my only discovery...

Do you imagine what people here will say if I report here with these "crazy experiments" ? People seems more busy in their audiophile life to look for buying new stuff than to pause and think: Is my actual audio system sound at his potential level sound quality? is it useful to buy any new gear before pushing my actual system to his true limit ?


Except the ubiquitous and " generally" useful Geoffkait, it seems that my thread will die by my own hands.... I hope some other guys with experience and experiments already in a road going toward the same conclusion as mine will lead this thread...

It seems that your advice was indeed very good... I have many reflective surface in my audio room and I applied to them the copper band tape and after one hour of listening the improve in S.Q. is evident...More so audible in the regular speakers listening distance than in nearfield...I have metal plate, and glass reflective surfaces where I tape the copper band and thanks to you I enjoy now more than ever the regular distance listening position for my speakers...

Somewhere Geoffkait on this forum I read your advice to somebody, I dont remember the tread, about copper tape, free of charge... You cannot ask royalties for copper tape....And I read also others that know about this tweak...Like Oregonpapa…

Putting the copper band yesterday on the glass or metal surface in my room, and not only on windows or on the wall sockets like you said gives me a better separation but mostly a better dynamic very audible principally in the normal distance of speakers listening....

I never contest the primacy and originality of your experiments Geoffkait, it is all in my thread for most to read about … But here I discuss also a part of my own experiments and yours also but also others experiments from all audiophiles to partake for  the benefit of all, the copper tape is for all to bought... You own the design of the "flying saucer" not the tape...
