Midwest Hi-Fi Store you can count on…

Happy listening everyone! Please support your local Hifi store if you can. That extra $$ are definitely worth it imo.  I am located in Kansas and Hifi dealerships are scarce in Kansas. Our wonderful newish but not new to the industry dealership is run by an incredible couple.

Mindy & David, This couple will LISTEN to you.

Not only do they treat you like a family but they are honest and trustworthy. They will stand behind every single product they sell.

David brought Borresen C1 and Thrax Ares integrated amplifier into my dedicated listening room as I wanted to hear them in my space and he made it happen without a sweat and was on the floor getting them dialed in my room. I am definitely ordering REL subs from them. I am pretty sure Editors Choice Hifi will listen and help you on your journey..

So please support your local hifi dealers.. Buy local!!  You can check their website they offer some great deals/brands.. Who knows they might have something you like as a demo unit??

I was going to order a couple of things that they had in the store. David said, I should wait till the updated version which will be coming out soon like couple months… He doesn’t just want to make a sale. He could have, but he chose to inform me and let me know..

What an awesome place & and couple! I think they have a phenomenal inventory, with outstanding hospitality and customer service.

If you are in Midwest and surrounding areas I definitely recommend calling them.

These guys Rock!! Thank you Mindy & David.

I have dealt with a lot of brick and mortar audio stores in the past and have tried to stay away from them. I’d rather go to audio shows to see what’s out there and see if anything catches my ears. Then I would deal online with either the manufacturer or distributor on getting the piece(s) in for an evaluation.

I might buy something outright because it’s on sale or maybe used and if I don’t like it, resell it. I just bought some new Rel subs after owning some in the past and a member of our audio club has them and I got a great deal from an online dealer. I didn’t know how much of a benefit they would be but at this price it was worth it. If I didn’t like them I would have been able to sell them pretty easy.

I live in Wichita. In 2023, I took a state tour: Colorado (including The Music Room), Utah had the stores, visited around 12. Visited Oklahoma and Texas (SWAF) in 2024.

Some store/manufactures would allow you to make an appointment. YG in Denver, OOPs did not show up. PS Audio had a great tour, FT Collins dealer was excellent.

I bought used through Audiogon and The Music Room.

@rbstehno  I certainly understand. I always attend Axpona and I also dealt with multiple sites to get deals. Everybody loves good deals!! Supporting local and feeling extremely comfortable peace of mind about my purchase is becoming more important. Our small, niche hobby could definitely benefit having more friendly/honest Hifi showrooms. @toyman wonderful to hear! Looks like you have a wonderful setup. Enjoy it!! 😊

My local store is terrible. I buy everything online now and have gone to the last 4 AXPONA shows and usually get good discounts from various dealers. I tried negotiating with my local dealer and they were not willing to give me any deals and they didn't help me at all. They spent no time with me since I knew exactly what I wanted. I say good riddance to them. If you have a great local dealer then by all means support them but not all of us are so lucky!

@willywonka I am so sorry to hear your terrible experience. I agree about Axpona, you benefit meeting lots of people and create some great connections. Enjoy the journey and happy Listening!!
