Not sure if I am in the same track as your question, but I prefered the sound of my Eclipses biwire-ed, the rest of my system runs um-balanced (single ended-RCA) since my sources has nobalanced output.

I do have a question regarding the conection of apir of monos from audio research 300 mk2 and a nice pair of avalon ascent mk2. What is the best/safe set up? balance ? unbalance? I have the avalon on 3 sets of zen cables satori I would like to keep it this way.
