I bought a brand new meridian g08.2 cd player 5 years ago from a meridian reseller (Extreme Audio) in Istanbul. Although I haven't played this cd Player more than 20 times, it's cd drive several times failed to eject or play the cd. Every time technician of the reseller had to repair, clean and adjust the mechanism. I Must say that I felt very disappointed to have such a weak mechanism and repeating defect from such an prestigeous hifi producer and expensive cd-player.
Furthermore, recently as my cd player could not eject the cd again, I had to go to service. However, technical service refused to repair stating that meridian audio on the general is not providing spare parts any longer.
In order to find solution, I wrote to meridian on their support website and asked their recommendation for an authorised or capable service in Istanbul. Much to my disappointment again, I haven't received any response until now... Finally I am convinced that it should be a shame and irrisponsible attitude from a producer who has been selling it's product lines to Turkey without providing reasonable and reachable service support...
Anyway, finally, the reason why I write here is to ask: ıf there are more people having similar problems with their g08.2 --- and could there be any usefull suggestion to me in order to have my (still almost brand new) cd player repaired by authorised service of meridian: (telephone numbers of meridian services in order to buy spare parts for repair would also help)
