mcintosh owners - need your help

i need a mcamp to go with a c34v mcpre. my speakers are ohm walsh 2's (updated, and i love em). majority seems to lean toward the autoformer amps, but with a c34v, do i really need more "warmth"? wouldn't a non-autoformer amp like a mc2002 be a better fit imaging-wise in that it's relatively "clearer"?

Not sure I would say better, how about different.

Using C500T and MC275 the imaging is more front-to-back. Instruments are separated and music notes have natural decay.
