McIntosh mvp 871 and hdmi

I'm running the hdmi from the McIntosh myp 871 straight to my 'o7 toshiba 42HL167 lcd tv having to bypass the MX132 because of no hdmi inputs. The mvp 871 is setup on HDMI 1 and the sat. is setup on HDMI 2. I'm only able to pull up the blue screen on the video out (yellow rca) to video in on the lcd. The setup on the mc871 is not playing on any of the modes (rgb1080i,etc. The manual on the lcd indicates it will only read VGA. What are my options other than purchasing a lcd tv that sees the hdmi in the MVP871?
