This is a more apt comparison. That said, I know a Lexus is not for everyone either! :)

Instead of Rolex or Harley Davidson, why not compare McIntosh to Lexus.

Like Lexus, McIntosh has:

1. Excellent longevity and good looks.

2. Top Tier resale value and brand recognition.

3. Competitive performance in each segment.

4. One of the highest rated customer satisfaction and ownership experiences.

5. Owners either trade for another Lexus, or keep it in the family and buy another.

I've noticed in the previous posts that if a McIntosh owner shares their likes, it's detailed and specific including models and supporting thoughts. However, the critics don't offer "the why" details to support their position other than generic blanket statements with no proof of ownership other than owned and didn't like, moved on, etc. Not that their position is not valid, but where's the what and why that we would like to read and learn about?

I’m not sure if this follow up video by OCD Mike’s friend and fellow Audiogon contributor was posted.

@jjss49 thanks for sharing that experience.

It’s one thing to display an arrogant, know-it-all attitude on a YouTube channel. Let’s face it, these days you have to sometimes scream to be heard (or clicked). It’s a hard life for these social media “influencers”. 😄

But in Mikes case, he appears to be under the delusion that screaming and insulting his customers, in a niche business where word of mouth is EVERYTHING, would somehow work great for his business!

Reading his rant above and his unique communication style with customers (as evident by what you shared), I’m now convinced this dudes a shoddy businessman and may have been rejected by McIntosh for representing their brand. He clearly didn’t take well to that rejection!  😂

@jl1ny and @henry53 Im curious now since I just purchased a demo model 452 last week. What benefit does a dedicated line bring? I hadn’t heard of that one before. I am driving Paradigm Persona speakers and the 452 does that effortlessly. It’s cool to the touch even after an hour of continuous play.

Thanks @ejr1953  I don’t have the option to do that but my home is relatively newish (15 years) so hopefully the existing wiring is adequate for this beast.

I just got done putting together my dream system. OCD Mike might throw up at this but I'm loving every moment of it!. No regrets.

Thanks guys.

@randym860 theres almost 4” clearance above the amp. The front of the frame hangs low but there’s plenty of clearance beyond that (see the space above the Oppo).
That said, this beast runs cool to the touch. I don’t crank it up too high for general listening but it’s never warm even playing continuously at 40%.

Thanks @arafiq   I had got this rack from a seller on Audiogon about 18 months back. Paid $600. I believe they import it from Vietnam. Nice quality and craftsmanship. I bet it’s gone up in price now.

@schw06 you articulated it best. I “feel” the same with my Mac gear in the few days I’ve had it. It calms my soul :)
