McCormack rld vs Bel Canto sep 1

Looking to get one of the above. Will be used with Cary cinema 5 amp, cary 303 cdp, and Merlin tsm-mx speakers. Which would be better, want to stay away from bright sound.

Hi James -

The RLD-1 (stereo, with HT bypass) fits the description of what you are looking for. I want to point-out, though, that you may want to give consideration to multichannel preamps like my MAP-1. This type of preamp can form the heart of a serious HT / surround music / stereo system as it can handle both multichannel and 2-channel sources.

Thanks Mr. McCormack,

I am wanting a preamp for quality stereo that I can pass my processor through for HT. I moving away from higher end HT with emphasis on 2 channel, BUT I must have HT retained.

Thanks
Just to clarify, are you looking for the RLD-1 (stereo with Home Theater bypass) or the MAP-1 multichannel preamplifier? Your mention of the Cary Cinema 5 amp makes me think you might be after a multichannel preamp for surround / home theater use.
