MC step-up break in question

Hi All,
I know there are a lot of threads here about how to break in a phono preamplifier. My question has to do with breaking in an active mc step-up amp. Since it only provides gain and has no RIAA correction, couldn't I break it in like any other line preamp.
I have an old sony cd player I keep around to break in cables, etc. Could I simply play some music into the mc step-up amp for a couple of days? (with, of course, the regular phono amplifier turned OFF) I can't think of any reason that would not work, but thought I would check and see if anyone has experience with this.
