Mark Levinson Reliability

I'm looking at a Mark Levinson 5805 preamp. A search of A'gon led me to a thread from 2020 where several posters had serious issues with the 5805. Most claimed it to be firmware issues, but some units actually died on them after six months. The discussion just stopped around the end of 2020.

Can anyone who has a 5805, or any of the newer ML products share their recent experience with the product?

Thanks!

I had old school Levinson equipment 380S, 390S, 335 amp.  All great in their day.

But, when they need repair, very restrictive ( limited factory repair depots) now and very, very expensive. I saw a thread on here a while ago that to reburbish a CD player was over $3000.

I gently moved away from them.

In fact, I got my back up when they started putting radios in Lexus sedan/SUV. That was the beginning of the end of my love them. HK really ruined their high end reputation in my eyes/ears.
