Mark Levinson no390s remote oddity

Hello

I've recently got myself a preloved mark levinson 390s cd player/transport and a 326 pre-amp to go along with it and the sound playback is beautiful.

The function buttons such as play, eject etc on the 390s work fine, but the remote control for the 390s doesn't seem to be working for some reason.. not sure why this is?

Tried numerous battery changes and cleaning the lens inside and out of the remote but so far no joy

Checked out the mark levinson website and they recommend cleaning the lenses on the cd player too, tried it but remote is still a paperweight

So does anyone here have experience with this mark levinson equipment and if so what is a good solution or fix around this remote problem?
