I see that opinions are still divided ;-)
I am sticking to no. 23 - and I’ve got a no. 27:
I needed a preamp, a man was selling a nice no. 28, but only as a set with his no. 27; the price was right, so I got them.
I must say I prefer the sound of no. 27 to no. 23, at least with Gradient 1.5 Helsinki.
Difference is tiny, but no. 27 seems to be a little mellower.
And I prefer no. 27 to Pass Aleph 4. Again, a minor difference, but bass depth and control of no. 27 is more important to me than richer mids of the Aleph. Alephs need more sensitive speakers...
Waiting for “Duevel Planets” to arrive, let’s see how they will work with the amps (I know, another low sensitivity design).
