Magnepan Mg3.6 tweeters and fuses

I have MG 3.6rs and am blowing tweeter fuses. I am biamping with two Acoustat TNT 200 watt amps. I'm in the process of auditioning new amps for my speakers and have had the Classe Cam 350 monos in my system. It doesn't seem to matter what I use, on certain cd cuts the fuses blow. Harry Pearson says you can dump unlimited power into these speakers, and Magnepan apparently biamps with a pair of Bryston 7B monos, yet no one mentions this problem. My room is 11 by 25 so it is not too large for my speakers. I really don't listen that loud, but I do like music, rock, classic, jazz with high dynamics. My room has been treated with sonex. Please advise.

Check replacement fuse types as to whether correct amp rating. Check lead connections (top and bottom on the tweeters). Check the crossover connections to the speakers are tight. Are you connecting the speakers correctly for bi-amp useage. Try alternate sources for problem replication. Finally, try running speakers in non-biamped mode at louder levels to see if the problem is removed.
Do you in anyway have a TV connected to your system...with a cable feed? Many cable TV feeds have DC current or worse on the ground..that can cause system wide problems...or your CD player is passing along high freq. garbage that you can't here...but that great Maggie ribbion can.... I had a Sony XA-7ES that was passing a 40k HZ (approx) signal..and causing problems...My guess is it is not the Maggies..but something on the front end/power side of your system
I play my Maggies at 100 dbs, on ocassions, with a Classe' amp and I never have a problem with blowing fuses. As a matter of fact, to improve the sound I have now by passed the fuse. However, at this time I would not recommend this for you. There is something wrong with the crossover if you are blowing the fuses and the ribbons. The fuse should protect the ribbon from over load and apparently it is not even doing this. Therefore leading me to the assumption that there is a problem with the speaker's electronics. Send them back to Maggie and have them look at them. Also, if there is something wrong they should credit you for the money you have spent on new ribbons, ect.
