Mac based source needs Dac
I am planning on ripping most of my CD's to my Mac (apple lossless, or AIFF) and going I-tunes to airport express, to a DAC then to my Linn Waconda, Klout, Keilidhs. I'm used to the sound of my old Karik so that is the baseline for sound quality for me. I've read a bunch of posts on this and would love some reccomendations on DACs. I am leaning towards a Musical Fidelity Tri-Vista. I am also consittering a Bel Canto Dac2, northstar, and a benchmark DAC1. I will mainly be using this dac to decode toslink coming off the airport express, but will also be decoding toslink from my DVD burner on occasion. I know these DACs only have 1 toslink so some sort of splitter or switch will be needed, any suggestions on that would be much appreciated. I am not married to the DACs I have outlined here, I've just heard a lot of good things about them if there are any others in the $700-$1400 price range that anyone likes please list them here.
