Lyra Kleos or Ikeda 9TT

It's almost time for a new cartridge. I have been leaning towards a Lyra Kleos but recently someone mentioned I should look at an Ikeda 9TT. I have read a couple of reviews and they were positive, no real surprise. I am interested in anyones opinion that has experience with these cartridges. The tonearm I will be mounting them on is a Triplanar.

Thanks

Ironic that you bring this up. I was running a Lyra Delos happily. I purchased the Ikeda 9TT asa back up cartridge. When I installed the Ikeda for a test run, it did not come out of the head shell The Lyra is my backup now. Two great carts, the Ikeda is profound, as the Lyra is damn good and detailed.

Thanks for your response.

May I ask what is the mass of your tonearm?

According to my research the 9TT is a low compliance cartridge and works best with a high mass tonearm (greater than 25 grams) while the Lyra is a medium compliance cartridge and works better with a low or medium mass tonearm.

Hi, it’s the Korf ceramic @21 grams. I would agree that it’s a tad light. I certainly wouldn’t use the Ikeda under 20 grams of effective mass. In my case , with a Garrad 301, it required more isolation for the table.
