Lumin Ap on Lumin players - not so good?

Anyone use Luman ap??

got a new luman device and find the Lumin ap as being difficult to work with.  Playlists seems to require lots of management vs Roon, Qobuz.  Also hard to figure ap out.  Seems very awkward to use.

design of ap doesnt seem to be very good.  Guidance is limited.  Very disappointed.

If you’re using Tidal, use the Tidal app on your machine of choice with Tidal connect and you never need to use the Lumin app (except for configuration).

It’s not that the Lumin app is that bad (it’s not really that hard to use), but it is fairly limited relative to what the Tidal app can do.

I wish Quboz would hurry up and release their rumored (vapor-ware?) Quboz connect so I could switch.

Aurender, if you're listening, you really should support Tidal connect.

Use Tidal connect.

I think your Lumin will advertise itself as a Tidal connect endpoint automatically.

I’m not sure if you need to configure the Tidal connection in the lumin app or not (for your account information). It’s probably a safe bet to do this, do it first, and listen to some Tidal using the Lumin app first (it’s really not that hard to use).

Once you’re up and running, launch the Tidal app on your surface of choice (I’ve used my iPhone, my iPad, and my Mac. I’ve never tried android or windows).

Pick your playlist and hit play. Things will start play on your local device like it always has.

In the Tidal app, on my iPhone and my iPad there is a little icon in the lower left corner. Looks like a little speaker with a couple waves coming out to the right. On my mac its on lower right corner.

Click/Tap on that, and a menu will pop up, with a list of available endpoints to send your music. One of those items should be your new Lumin device. Click/Tap on that. The tidal app playlist will go to the device, and the music will directly stream to the Lumin (the app is at that point merely a remote control, you can turn it off if you wish).

FWIW, your Lumin also supports Spotify connect, and it works the same way with their app (although I think you need to explicitly turn it on in the Lumin app configuration).

Also, make sure your firmware in your Lumin is up to date. Tidal connect support was added last summer I think via firmware update (free). If you have trouble the Lumin guys give great support on the audioshark forum (Manufacturer Forums-> Lumin)
