Lower power on left channel

Hi all,

Does anyone have any ideas or come across this before?

I have a Primaluna Evo 300 pre-amp with a Primaluna Evo 400 power amp, using G/L KT 88 tubes. The other evening I was sat there playing some music and suddenly thought that it did not sound right, as I stood up and walked towards the centre of my speakers I noticed the the left speaker was down on volume compared to the right speaker. As I went to turn the system off I noticed that the KT88 tubes where down on heat to what they normally are.

I can not do much now till after Christmas but any help would be much appreciated

Merry Christmas

When I can get to the back of the amp I am going to change the speaker cables over and see if the loss of power is then on the right hand channel.

Hi Guy's

I have not checked the red light (bad tube indicator) I did not notice that any of them where on when leaning over the amp checking the heat of the tubes before turning the amp off, I will have to power the amp and check at the same time as changing the speaker cables over. Source wise, I have  tried change the input on the pre amp from Dac to phono pre amp, that did not make any difference.

After swapping the speaker cables over on the rear of the amp the left speaker was still down on volume, I then removed the speaker grill and found that the Mid's speaker was not working. Removing the mid speaker I found that one of the connecting wires was off the terminal, after re-soldering the wire back on and refitting to the speaker, hey presto the all good.

Thanks guys for all your thoughts and Idea's

Happy New Year

Steve.
