Why speaker cables so long? 😎

Long Run of Speaker Cabling
Hello, AGon Folks -
My setup dictates a long run of speaker cabling (about 18') from my Conrad Johnson Premier 12 Mono Blocks to my Vandersteen Quatro Wood speakers. Though not ideal, there is no other way that I'll arrange the placement of my components.
If anyone would care to give a recommendation for replacement speaker cabling (18' runs) that would do well in this setup I would appreciate it very much. I would like to stay with Bi wiring.
My components:
Vandersteen Quattro Loudspeakers
Van Den Hul Teatrack Biwire Speaker Cable (to be replaced)
Conrad Johnson Premier 12 Mono Block Power Amps
Conrad Johnson Premier 16LS Preamp
Sota Star Saphire Turntable with Benz Zebra cartridge
Conrad Johnson HD3 USB DAC
Innuos Zen Mk. 3 Streamer
Stealth PGS interconnects exclusively
Thank you,
Randy
Thanks, all. Hi, Mike - Long length due to the unchangeable location of component's; speakers in living room electronics off to side in small hallway. My wife does not want the living room looking like a stereo room. Electronics (amps) need to stay where they are, and cables run under the floor. It would be nice to have another room, a dedicated listening room where this would not be the case... |
back to basics http://www.roger-russell.com/wire/wire.htm I always want a proper gauge of zip first, then compare anything else to that. I'd rather spend the money on something else than a cable IF I cannot hear a preferable difference. |
