Johnathan Blake "Trion" (Blake, drums; Chris Potter, tenor sax; Linda May Han Oh, bass--killer band!) John Coltrane "Afro Blue Impressions" (Classic quartet live in Europe. I grew up on this album. Music gets no better.) Brad Mehldau "The Art of the Trio, Live at the Village Vanguard, Vol. 2" (Mehldau is mind-blowing, esp. on "Countdown" when the bassist, Larry Genadier, and drummer, Jorge Rossy drop out.) |
