I don’t typically recommend YT reviews as a source, but Lachlan from Passion For Sound did a pretty thorough review of the Aero that feels truthful.
Tonality and timbre appear to be strong points of the Aero, and he does mention the May near the end of the review. My interpretation is the Aero might give up a little detail to the May in favor of a more relaxing presentation.
I own an L2 May, and feel its key strength is its USB and Phase Lock Loop implementation, and overall dynamic presentation.
If you’re posting from within the states, the LTA being built in the US at a competitive price point could provide a better value without additional tax.
