Pioneer bought Phase Linear in the late 70's. The turntables are identical and both are made by Pioneer.
I have a friend who has the Phase version as well as a very elaborate Phase set up. The table is excellent and I would recommend it without hesitation. He has used his nearly every day for over 30 years. It's works flawlessly.
