Linear PCM question

I am contemplating buying an anthem D2 or AVM 50; and in order to take advantage of the new lossless codecs converting them to linear pcm to run audio through the processor. Will there be a drop in sound quality by doing this if I buy a capable blue ray player? Or would the v versions of the above players with internal decoding be signifantly better?
