Legacy Audio Focus SE and rivals

I am Interested at Legacy Audio Focus SE - their natural look Is exceptional, they are very efficient, got 2 x 12 Inch woofers which cut off  low end at 18 Hz at - 2 dB , curious about  HF end where cut off Is 30 kHz

I would like to ask you - are they neutral sound speaker, are they sensitive to closer to wall placing

are there any better alternative at that price

sasho

I have the Focus SE paired with Ayon Triton Evo and love them. Do recommend getting  at least 18 inches from the wall.

I recently purchased a pair of Focus SE.  I auditioned the Signature and SE and although the Signature is a terrific speaker, I thought the additional mid range driver in the Focus SE brought a little more to the table.  I was concerned with speaker height but after getting them home and letting them settle in, the height is not an issue, they have a small footprint and they integrate well into my living room.  I'm powering my Focus SE with a McIntosh C2600 tube preamp and a McIntosh MC 462 solid state amp.  I would agree with the comments previously that these speakers will sound great with almost any amp.  I have 40 wpc tube monoblocks and also 90 wpc Class A tube monoblocks which I will also try.  These are terrific speakers and I find them to be relatively neutral, nice detail, great bass and non-fatiguing.  I listen to a variety of music and they play it all well.  My room is 20'-6" L x 13'-6" W with a 8' - 11' vaulted ceiling.  I sit about 10' from the face of the speakers.  My speakers are 8'-2" on center along the long wall and the back of the speaker is 18" from the wall behind them.  They are slightly toed in.  They do take a little while to break in and I prefer them bi-wired.  If you have a much smaller room, you might consider the Signatures due to potential bass overload from the Focus SE dual woofers

I've always been curious about these, for those that have experience I've got Focal Kanta 3s and have heard (and like) most of the brand. How does Legacy contrast?

No comparison to Focal. I sold my Electra 1038s for these (signature SE) and couldn't be happier. Could never (after 6 years ) get the Focals to loose the clinical, fatiguing presentation.. Legacy makes music.

Totally agree no comparison I sold my Focal Aria 948 and went with Focus SE. it was like a night and day comparison. The clarity and detail is glorious. I set for a long time with speakers.
