Legacy Aeris use subwoofer or not for music?

I have Legacy Foundation subwoofer and it seems setting up sub to work with the mains seems daunting. What are the cons if any?. I do need the sub for HT but does 2.1 really work for music?. 

I have the wavelet to help me but the combination of blend and phase knobs throws a lot of tweaking to the forefront.
