Anyone listen yet? I haven't committed to getting them yet and am curious to hear any impressions and opinions. Thanks

Rockitman,

If you have a set of the OOP Classics sitting around collecting dust that you'd like to unload cheap, just let me know :)
Wow Whart, thanks for the schooling. I'm sure I'll be referring back to your posting many times.
On topic, based on the mostly positive reviews and feedback, I've ordered LZ II. I look forward to giving it a listen and adding my 2 cents. Thank you all for yours.

Off topic, I 100% agree with you Rockitman. For my ears, vinyl simply crushes cd and digital almost every time, given the pressing was well done etc. The only exception I've experienced, and I'm sure there's others, is "Who Are You". 5 lps and all of them sound horrible while the cd sounds pretty good, go figure :)
Now I only use digital, which for a long while was my only source, as background music and any serious listening is done analog. An incredibly fulfilling transition.
Listened to LZ l and ll. I thought LZ l sounded fantastic, crisp, clear, tight, dead quiet backgrounds, very impressive.
ll sounded a little muffled to my ears, Plants vocals sometimes a bit more in the background, a little bass heavy, somehow not as cohesive sounding as LZ l. After hearing how great LZ l sounded I was a bit disappointed but all in all it's still pretty good. I'll give it another go tomorrow but overall so far so good.
Thanks Whart. I listened again yesterday and all things considered the thing sounds pretty damn good. I saw on Music Direct that LZI Deluxe is sold out and awaiting repressing. Waiting for the wife to go shopping later today so I can give III a good LOUD listen :)
Without being negative and just bitching, doesn't it seem a shame that the great analog pressings, UK, Classic etc. of all these albums seem to be universally considered to sound better? Why even bother with digital in the analog mix at all. Fine to do a hi res file if you want to offer options, but why add a digital mix when obviously the all analog sounds better when done right? It's just lame to me. I guess we live in a world where mp3's on Beats headphones, McDonalds, selfies and Facebook is as good as most people want. Sorry, I couldn't help being negative and just bitching :)
I hate when this stuff happens. Not that this helps for this situation but I've been buying almost all of my new vinyl from Soundstage Direct. They are very friendly and helpful. When I order I ask that they inspect the LPs for damage and defects. This is a service they seem completely willing to extend. I've ordered probably 150 LPs like this and only one or two defects seemed to have slipped by. They were very willing to offer either a refund or exchange on these. Plus MD has free shipping over $35, so I've saved probably $200-300, which is about 10 albums :) When companies don't support and protect their customers, it's critical to take our business elsewhere. Otherwise we are sending the clear message that they can jerk us around.
PS, I have no affiliation with this company and won't receive any benefits from my last post, in case anyone was wondering.
