Kudos for dealer

I have just purchased a Pioneer DV-37 DVD player from a dealer that posted on Audiogon about a month ago, and wanted to convey my very positive experience with him. The dealer is Avantgarde Trading Company, located in Blaine, WA. I got very fast, professional service from him, plus a very good price on the DVD player (I paid $650 for the DV-37, which has a MSRP of $1000). The owner is named Chi, and his E-mail address is: avantgarde2@hotmail.com

I will back John_I on the Portland scene. Craig at Art of Audio is my favorite out of the new equipment dealers, while Jim and Kurt at Echo Audio are incredible with the used gear.

Avoid Gary at The Audio Gallery like the plague! He is the biggest asshole I have ever met.
I've had good business dealings with audio-logic.com in Des Moines (actually I bought at the store and had them ship), Audible Difference, Galen Carol audio (gcaudio.com), getplugged.com, and echohifi.com. Echo is a local used equip store here in Portland. Great guys.

I don't really patronize new dealers (prefer to buy used), but dealers with good reputations in the Portland high-end community are Joe Weber at Corneraudio in Beaverton, Terry at StereoTypes in Portland, Kurt and Jim at Echohifi (used), and The Art of Audio in Beaverton. I've always heard good comments regarding these local dealers.
I have also had a very favorable experience here on Audiogon. I recently completed three transactions with Walter Liederman. His user id is Underwoodwally. Walter is a consumate professional and I recommend him highly. I found him to be knowledgable, responsive, and patient. Check out his feedback or contact me for a reference.
