If you spend the time mating the 222 with appropriate gear and speakers and use it in cast mode, then it is marginaly better. For the average system a KCT in balanced mode will do just fine. The 222 is more detailed and clear sounding. The KCT is warmer and a little less revealing. Both are dynamic sounding.
