Krell KAV 2250 Great Amp or Good Amp ?

Hello,
Im in need of advice on the Krell KAV 2250. I have a Chance
to get a Kav 2250 at a great price!!! The Amp it will be replacing is an Aragon 2004MKII(100x2).
How would you Characterize the sound of the Krell Kav2250?
Is it Detail and Analytical or Smooth and Musical?
Associated Equipment: B&W Matrix 804s
MIT MH-750 speakers cable
MIT MI-330 i.c.
Theta Pearl trans/Pro Basic IIIa dac
Aragon 24k pre for now.
Thanks

I have the N804's with a KAV2250 and a VTL 5.5 pre. The combination works very well. Maybe a smidge on the lean side in the midrange, but overall a fairly full, musical sound. I think the tubed pre has a lot to do with that. You can check a poster named AbeCollins on AA. He had one for a while and has some worthwhile opinions. Good luck.
I have one and love it. I have it paired with a KAV-280P. I'm not sure how to describe the sound other than accurate, which is what I figure an amp should aspire to. That said, you may want to look at the Aragon 80008BB as well which is a great amp and would be a step up from the 2004 and less $$ than the 2250. I'm not a believer that all (SS) amps sound the same, however I don't think they sound as different as some would have you believe either. Anyway, good luck.
