Krell 65M's VS Krell audio Standards

Need some advice. Looking to upgrade a pair of MDA500's. Most of my system is Krell. Ref 64 with MD10 for digital, Accuphase tuner and Krell Audio Video Standard for preamp processor. I enjoy listening to jazz, especially vocals ie. Diana Krall, Patricia Barber etc. On occassion I do like to crank it up. Sonically, does anyone out there have any suggestions between these two pairs of Amps? Am I in danger of buying a 10 year old pair of KAS's and having servicability problems?

I DONT THINK YOU WILL HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH KRELL WITH
SERVICE ON THE AUDIO STANDARDS.THEY ARE THE BEST SOUNDING
KRELLS MADE BLOWS AWAY THE 650M.ONLY THING BETTER IS THERE
MASTER REFERENCE.
i would think the sonics of most krell amps are going to be hard to tell one from another. i met dan d twice. he told me himself the diferrence between old and new was not huge. i would buy the audio standards myself. best looking krells ever.
I have a REf. 64, MD 10, KRC HR, AVS and KAS-2s. I run Thiel 7.2s and BMW 801 IIIs. I liked the KAS2s so much that I just purchase a set of KAS. I have had no problems with Krell on their service and support of my older equipment. I have not compaired a KAS to the 650M. If you are looking for a KAS, expect to pay 11,000 to 12,000 for them. A set was just on ebay, but the owner did not let them go at 10,000.
i still say open up a audio standard, then open up the 650 monos. open up a ksa 250 or 300s then look at the 300 fpb. the filter caps went from the coke can size to the finger nail size. now was this to save money? i am not trying to beat up krell as i have met and talked to dan and the crew. i want a big krell to try on a sub, right now. anyway i think the audio standards were the best krells ever.
