Koetsu Tonearm (mid 80’s I think?)

Does anyone have experience with these 1980’s tone arms?
  • Are they worth having?
  • And is there a spec for how far the mounting hole would need to be from the spindle?
  • And it is a sideways move from an SAEC WE-317, or ???

Looking to potentially have a second tonearm and cartridge for just playing around.I would likely need to relevel the turntable, but the cartridge mounting would be set and forget once it is initially set up.

There is nothing special about the Koetsu SA-1100d. It is standard Japanese fare. The SAEC is a more interesting but equally flawed design. Examples of good design are the Kuzma 4 points, the Reed 2G, the Schroder CB and the Tri Planar. Because they are good designs it may be harder to find a used example. Keep an eye on the market and eventually one will pop up.
