Klipsch VS B&W

B&W hands down if you want audio and video. I use the 800 Matrix series for both and they are always a pleasure to listen to weather audio/video. I was buying/selling audio for 10 years until I matched my Krell with B&W and I no longer would consider selling to "upgrade". Klipsch is deffinately good, but you might live longer with the B&W. Excellent resale on B&W too if you ever did sell.

I also narrowed my choices to Klipsch and B&W, but unlike Frank I went with the B&W's. I have CDM7se's for the mains a CC6 and DM602's for surrounds. I also listen to about 60/40 music/theater. I chose the B&W's because they sounded quite a bit better to me on music the CDM7's arent as lacking in the low end as some of the 600 series can be but I still added a Energy ES10 sub to the mix. The B&W's do take alot of power to bring out thier potential and a hell of a lot of break in! I nearly packed em up and returned them but I hung in there and could'nt be happier with the sound. I guess in the end you should buy whatever sounds best to you and fits you budget. -Dave

Hi. I felt like I should respond because I too had narrowed my choice down to these two brands of speakers about 2 years ago. I'm not as serious an audiophile as some of the people who visit this site but I do enjoy my music and am willing to spend a few thousand on audio equipment so that I can really enjoy it. Anyway, about the speakers... Like you said, the Klipsch have a better bottom end than the B&W. It took me a while to decide but in the end, I went with my ears and bought the Klipsch. If you listen to rock/pop (pretty much anything other than classical), that bottom end from the Klipsch adds an extra dimension (and realism) to the music that I felt the B&W was lacking. The Klipsch's mids and highs are too shabby either (and I bought the KLF10s!). Also, the Klipsch's are more efficient than the B&Ws. My 100W/channel Yamaha barely gets warm when driving these speakers. Best of all, I don't need a subwoofer. When I have nothing better to do with my money, maybe I'll get one. I'm very happy with my speakers. Hope this helps. -Frank
